Executive Chef Daniel Asher
Chef Daniel Asher is proud to be a part of the Spa team; with over 16 years of commercial foodservice experience, Chef Daniel is excited
to take Spa Cafe to the next level of excellence. Inspired by his mom's
kitchen talents, he began working by her side at the age of 7. By 9,
he was preparing dinner for the family one night a week, and by 12 was
orchestrating 7-course fine dining experiences, complete with wine
pairings, for his family & his parents' friends & business associates.
Beginning with 'potato-peeling' duty at 14, he worked his way around
various kitchens, from fryer to grill, sauté to soups, salads &
pastries. Sous Chef by 21 & Executive Chef by age 23, Daniel has
worked for a number of restaurants, catering companies & private
clients in Chicago, Arizona, California, Florida, New York, and
abroad. Founding his own boutique organic catering company in 2004,
Chef Daniel was one of the new pioneers in the natural foods movement
in the Midwest, exclusively utilizing organic & locally-grown produce,
ethically-raised meats & sustainably produced ingredients.
Eco-conscious foodservice is his passion, and Spa Cafe is no
exception; packaging has been converted to compostable/biodegradable
alternatives such as cornstarch utensils from EcoProducts in Boulder,
CO, cups made with Natureworks PLA, and bags from BioBag, produced in
Norway. Chef Daniel is a certified Raw Foods Chef from the Living
Light Culinary Institute in California, and as a long-time vegetarian,
he specializes in vegan & plant-based cuisine. Preparing upscale
culinary dishes, free of refined sugars, bleached flours, artificial
flavors/colors & chemicals, his "Clean Cuisine" has graced the plates
& menus of celebrities & rockstars, restaurants & homes. We are
pleased to introduce him as our new Chef!
